Only a month to go for election 2008 but govt. and 4 parties allaince are face to face situation.Government says they accepted the conditions set by alliance 6 out of7.But the alliance report it has not done yet practically.Beside this 3 top leader of BNP and jamayat have been closed.

This is ahard profof against govt. That they donthis  want 4 parties that they would not go to election without fullfiling the 7conditions by govt. The funny thing is that the govt still say they want alliance in election.

Now the question is who will first discharge for the ending of this handing up situation?BNP is the most suffererfr from cider1/11.They can called half fit for election because of the of the damage. In this situatsion is  not posible to them slepdown from the cdvisons of urrent condition.so it will be great risk for them for winning of upcoming electitheer. On the other hand their 7 demand proposing prosponding of election of given a chance to their opponents to say that the allaince is against the election and thus they could make a bad imprations against BNP the allaince among the people.

As some advisons of govt.still say that they want alliance of election. They could stedforward to make a solution of this critical situat. So the govt of Bangladesh who would probabily the step downer lets see will be the first.

The court orderd about khalada zia

Posted in Uncategorized tagged at 1:51 pm by sun5

Dhaka – A High Court bench on Thursday ordered a three-month stay on all proceedings of a graft case against Bangladesh’s former prime minister Khaleda Zia and 15 others, court officials said.

The order came hours after a lower court ordered Khaleda – the chief of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, which led the last elected government – to face a special court.

The High Court bench, comprising Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain and Justice Farid Ahmed, ordered the stay after holding a hearing upon a repeal petition filed by Khaleda’s counsels.

The court also asked the Anti-Corruption Commission, which investigated the corruption charge, and the government to explain within two weeks ‘why the proceedings against the accused should not be declared illegal.’

Earlier, a lower court ordered Khaleda and her colleagues in the 2001-2006 cabinet and several other officials to face the special court, set up to try high-politicians accused of corruption.

The court was created by the military-backed government after launching a massive anti-crime drive in 2007

A good number of senior leaders of Khaleda’s party as well as former prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League were sentenced to jail terms by the court, which generally wraps up proceedings in a maximum of 90 days.

These politicians might be disqualified in contesting the December general election unless their convictions are stayed by higher courts.

Several thousand supporters crowded onto the streets as Khaleda, who was released on bail in four other corruption cases, arrived at the court for Thursday’s hearing amid tight security. They chanted slogans asking the government to lift all ‘fabricated’ cases.

She was released from jail on September 11, a year after being detained on graft charges.

Meanwhile, another High Court bench asked the government for a two-week extension before Hasina, a former prime minister who ruled the country from 1996 to 2001, is to appear in court.

Hasina, who is now in Canada, was paroled on medical grounds on June 11, nearly a year after she was detained by the military-backed government of Fakhruddin Ahmed.

Court denies bail to Bangladesh ex-premier Hasina

Posted in Uncategorized tagged at 1:29 pm by sun5

Supreme Court of Bangladesh denied bail in a graft case to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed on Thursday, now paroled for medical treatment abroad.

A five-member Appellate Division bench headed by Chief Justice MM Ruhul Amin passed the order during a hearing into the case filed by a businessman last year. The court order came at a time when the country’s major political parties were preparing for December’s general election with a fear that Hasina of the Awami League and her fellow former prime minister Khaleda Zia of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, both of whom face corruption charges, might be kept away from the election fray. The parties have been warning the interim government they might boycott the election if their top leaders are barred from the polls.

The government said the archrivals would be able to contest the election unless a court convicts them. Hasina’s attorney Shafik Ahmed said the court ruling was unexpected, adding, ‘The court is allowing convicted people bail, but our appeal has been rejected.’

But the government lawyer Salauddin Ahmed said the rejection of the appeal came on the basis of a majority ruling by the judges.

In late September, the High Court rejected Hasina’s request for bail and she appealed to the Supreme Court. Hasina is implicated in five graft cases since the present interim administration of Fakhruddin Ahmed took over on January 2007 in the wake of political turmoil. She was detained in July 16 2007 and was given a temporary release on June 11 this year to seek medical treatment abroad.

Khaleda Zia, who has also been implicated in a number of graft cases, was released from jail on bail on September 11 after nearly a year of detention.
